Multiple Testing Modes – Two testing modes are available: a standard Test Mode that’s used to analyse a single Cartridge, as well as a Rapid Scan Mode which can process a small batch of Cartridges in quick succession.
After collecting a fingerprint sample onto the Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening Cartridge, the test administrator follows a series of simple on-screen instructions on the Reader 1000 and inserts the Cartridge into the Reader drawer when prompted. The Reader 1000 then analyses the Cartridge to detect the test results and, within minutes, provides a clear positive or negative on-screen result for each drug in the test.
In common with other point-of-care tests, the Reader 1000 provides a preliminary screening result so a laboratory confirmation test should always be carried out to verify a positive result.
